Missions :
Manage projects and actions relating to the design, production and validation of tooling used to manufacture technical parts in elastomer.
Improve and maintain existing tooling.
Main Tasks :
Design production molds and tooling.
Ensure that production tooling is in good working order, and carry out maintenance and repairs.
Select toolmakers and draw up cost estimates for tooling production.
Check tooling on receipt and ensure its proper operation with the technician in charge of set-up.
Monitor the manufacture of tooling by subcontractors and report to Project Managers.
Work with the Engineering Department to finalize the definition of elastomer parts for the process and refine the tolerancing of mechanical parts going into the mold.
Support the Engineering Department in the design of test tools.
Program, prepare and monitor the tooling validation process in collaboration with the Methods Technician in charge of process development.
Schedule tooling design reviews.
Manage and control the configuration of tooling drawings and files.
Identify tooling where necessary.
Manage the manufacturing tooling database.
Summarize activity at the end of each month.
Required profile :
Technician with a background in mechanics and production engineering or industrial product design, with between 3- and 10-years’ experience in a similar job.
Good skills in general mechanics and industrial drawing, knowledge of elastomer and/or composite materials would be a plus.
Very good use of SOLIDWORKS drafting software required.
